
Another internet outage recorded in Belarus
On Monday, August 17, internet in Belarus was again completely down. The issue lasted for several minutes.

Reports were corroborated by local Telegram channels.
As of writing, connectivity was starting to recover, although outages continue to be reported.
Internet problems in Belarus began amid the presidential elections and the protests that followed.
Daily losses from the internet shutdown were estimated at $56 million. More than 500 local IT workers signed an open letter against violence. In it they said that “the country is forming conditions in which technological business cannot operate.”
Belarusian bitcoin exchanges told ForkLog that they were able to minimize the risks from the internet shutdown.
