Congratulations to a miner with 1.14PH who solved the 264th solo Bitcoin block at https://t.co/UWgBvLkDqc ! https://t.co/5BsWlYkYJt There was once again ~20% chance that one of the miners at the pool would have solved a block by now. pic.twitter.com/NrlAbhhKCk

This is the fourth such instance this year. But this time the miner’s hardware power was an order of magnitude higher — 1.14 PH/s. That roughly corresponds to the combined hash rate of 11 Antminer S19j Pro devices from Bitmain.

Including transaction fees, the miner’s reward was about 6.284 BTC (~$244,611).

According to Kolivas, at the time of the block’s discovery, the probability that someone connected to the pool would have mined it was about 20%.

In total, solo miners using CKPool have mined 264 blocks to date, the administrator added.

On January 11, an unknown mined a block with a hashrate of 126 TH/s. The probability of such an event was less than 0.0001%.

On January 13, luck favored a CKPool participant with devices totaling 116 TH/s. For the third solo miner to find a block this year, the computing power of his mini-farm was only 86 TH/s.

On January 21, after another adjustment, mining difficulty of Bitcoin reached a record high of 26.64 T.
