ARK Invest boosts GBTC stake to 7.31 million shares

In the fourth quarter of 2020, asset manager ARK Invest bought 2.14 million shares of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC). The data on the SEC site show this.

In October 2020, ARK Invest owned 5.17 million GBTC shares. After further purchases of GBTC in the fourth quarter, the total rose to 7.31 million.

As of writing, ARK Invest’s GBTC assets were valued at $357.5 million.

GBTC shares rose 222% in the fourth quarter and 39% since the start of 2021. During the same period, the price of Bitcoin climbed 177% and 63.1%, respectively.

In February, Grayscale Investments surpassed $30 billion in assets under management.
