Arkham Intelligence offers bounty for FTX hacker

The administration of the Arkham Intel Exchange on-chain data marketplace published a bounty for information about the FTX hacker who breached the exchange, with a reward of 100,000 ARKM (~$50,000 at the time of writing).

«During the FTX collapse in November 2022, exchange representatives reported an exploit that led to losses of more than $415 million in cryptocurrency. The hacker’s identity remains unknown», the description reads.

The client has also attached three addresses linked to the alleged attacker. The contract runs until August 17.

Arkham noted that the attack on FTX was the second-largest hack in the history of the industry.

Analysts say that the exchange’s current CEO John Ray confirmed the incident in a remote post. According to him, the platform lost funds due to “unauthorized transactions” through the chief counsel Ryan Miller’s account on X (formerly Twitter).

In addition, on the marketplace announced a bounty for locating the wallets of former Terraform Labs head Do Kwon. Two online sleuths have already proven ownership of several addresses and received 9,519 ARKM (~$4,750).

The administration published a bounty for the Wintermute market maker hacker, who in September 2022 stole more than $160 million.

On the platform, a reward of 1,000 ARKM (~$500) was set for locating Elon Musk’s wallets. Among other contracts are whale identification, locating addresses of major companies or bounty hunting for small-time scammers and hackers.

Because of such ambiguous bounty listings, the Arkham platform, launched on July 10, drew a negative reaction from the community. Users dubbed the project a “snitching service”, and some saw decentralization issues.

As reported, during Arkham Intelligence’s token sale, 114,454 participants locked up 10.18 million BNB ($2.4 billion) to purchase tokens. The final conversion rate stood at 4.92 ARKM per 1 BNB.
