Kazakhstan-based cryptocurrency exchange ATAIX Eurasia will stop serving Russians due to the need to comply with EU sanctions. This is stated in a newsletter, received by users.
According to the document, Russian citizens and residents there, as well as companies registered in that jurisdiction, must withdraw funds and close their accounts by 15 December 2023.
In the official Telegram group, representatives of the exchange confirmed that, at present, new users from Russia are no longer able to register and verify.
ATAIX Eurasia is one of six exchanges licensed to operate in Kazakhstan.
In October 2022, the European Parliament imposed a full ban on servicing Russians’ crypto wallets in the euro area and on owning any amount of such assets.
