Australian digital-asset exchange CoinJar launches Mastercard-backed cryptocurrency card.

Australia’s largest digital asset exchange CoinJar has launched a cryptocurrency payment card. The company said that this is the first such product in the country supported by Mastercard.

According to the statement, CoinJar Card allows spending cryptocurrency at all merchants that accept payments on the network. Users can also withdraw cash at ATMs.

Virtual assets are automatically converted into Australian dollars when making transactions.

The card is available in both physical and digital form through integration with Google and Apple Pay.

CoinJar Card supports up to 30 digital assets, with a 1% conversion fee. It is returned to users through a rewards program; earned points can be used to pay for exchange services or purchases in the CoinJar Rewards Store.

Earlier, the Australian startup CryptoSpend received approval from Visa to issue debit cards capable of paying with cryptocurrencies.
