Barry Silbert: Foundry Set to Become the Largest Mining Pool in the United States

Barry Silbert, founder of Digital Currency Group, announced the launch of a mining pool by its subsidiary Foundry in February 2021.

Silbert confirmed that Foundry is listed in the ‘unknown’ category on BTC.com, which accounts for 8.64 EH/s of hashrate or 5.6% of the total computing power of the Bitcoin network.

Founded in 2019, the American mining company Foundry describes itself as ‘one of the largest Bitcoin miners in North America’. The firm also provides consulting, financing and equipment procurement services.

Foundry representatives say they helped acquire roughly half of the mining devices deployed in the United States and Canada in 2020.

In August last year, Foundry joined Digital Currency Group. After the acquisition, Barry Silbert’s firm pledged to invest $100 million in Foundry during 2021.
