Digital artist Michael Winkelmann, known by the alias Beeple, sold his painting “OCEAN FRONT” as a non-fungible token (NFT) for $6 million.

The buyer of the lot was Tron founder Justin Sun. Beeple will donate the proceeds to climate-change efforts.

Earlier, Beeple sold the work ‘Everydays: The First 5000 Days’ for $69.3 million. The painting is a collage of thousands of the artist’s works published online since 2007. The buyer turned out to be Vignesh Sundaresan, who used the alias Metakovan.
In late February, Beeple’s NFT featuring Trump was resold for $6.6 million. In December 2020, the artist earned $582,000 for ‘Crossroad’.
Back in March, Beeple called a bubble the NFT market.
Earlier, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey sold his first tweet as an NFT for $2.91 million. The buyer of the lot was Bridge Oracle founder Sina Estavi.
