Belarusbank launches a legal cryptocurrency exchange service

The largest bank in Belarus, Belarusbank, in collaboration with WhiteBird, introduced a service for buying and selling cryptocurrencies using Visa payment cards.

According to «PrimePress», the service became available from 13 November. For now it can be used only by citizens of Belarus and Russia; in the future the list of countries and supported cryptocurrencies is planned to be expanded.

In 2019, Belarusbank announced plans to create an exchange platform for cryptocurrency trading on its premises.

\n

The launch of the cryptocurrency exchange service is part of the bank’s digital transformation program.

\n

Belarusbank is set to become one of the participants in the National Bank of Belarus’s token issuance experiment.
