Binance receives preliminary approval to operate in Kazakhstan
Binance has received preliminary approval to operate a digital assets platform and provide custody services in the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). ForkLog reported representatives of the bitcoin exchange said.
The license was issued by the AIFC Committee for Regulation of Financial Services. Binance will complete the full licensing application process in the near future.
Thereafter, the exchange will be able to provide its services as an operator of the digital assets platform and as a custodian services provider in the AIFC.
“This step again demonstrates Binance’s commitment to operating as a compliance-oriented exchange and to providing products and services in a safe and well-regulated global environment,” said CEO Changpeng Zhao.
Earlier in April, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of Kazakhstan announced the launch of a pilot project to create and develop cryptocurrency exchanges.
