Binance secures digital asset service provider license in France

Binance, the cryptocurrency exchange, has obtained a license to provide digital asset market services from the French financial markets regulator AMF, with the consent of the Prudential Supervisory and Resolution Authority (ACPR).

The platform received approval to store and trade cryptocurrencies.

In September 2021, Binance CEO said he had abandoned the “decentralized” business model.

In November 2021, Binance CEO said about plans to obtain in France the status of a digital asset service provider and to open a regional headquarters within 6–12 months. At the same time, the exchange announced a €100 million initiative with France FinTech to support local blockchain startups.

Zhao also said that Binance is in talks with regulators in more than 40 countries, including the FCA.

Earlier in 2022, authorities in Bahrain, Dubai and the Abu Dhabi Free Zone granted approvals for the exchange to operate.

Earlier Binance announced the launch of a regulated exchange in Thailand and announced about opening a customer-service center in Turkey.
