Binance Smart Chain reports wave of attacks by 'well-organised hackers'

Representatives of Binance Smart Chain (BSC) said there have been attacks by ‘well-organised hackers’ on DeFi projects in the ecosystem and named several steps to enhance security and reduce the risk of hacks.

In recent times attackers conducted more than eight attacks on BSC-based projects using flash loans.

The BSC team urged developers to conduct a re-audit.

«If the project is a fork, double- and triple-check the changes relative to the original version», the statement said.

The BSC urged developers to implement additional risk controls and to monitor in real time for suspicious activity. If such activity is detected, the protocol should be suspended, ecosystem representatives said.

They also called for the drafting of a preliminary incident-response plan and the launch of a bounty program to identify vulnerabilities.

In May, several DeFi projects on BSC were affected by hacker attacks — PancakeBunny, BurgerSwap and Julswap, as well as Belt Finance.
