Binance sues Forbes over defamatory statements

Binance sues Forbes over defamatory statements

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance filed a lawsuit against Forbes Media and two of its journalists — Michael del Castillo and Jason Brett. The suit concerns a publication about serving American clients of the platform in circumventing regulators.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for New Jersey. Binance contends that the article contains “numerous false, misleading and defamatory statements”.

The company maintains that it did not create the document described by the journalists as “Tai Chi Education” and that its purported author Harry Zhou never worked at Binance.

The Forbes publication did not respond to the request to delete the publication and apologise. The exchange seeks damages, the amount to be determined by the court.
