After nearly 18 months of restrictions, the American exchange Binance.US has reinstated deposits and withdrawals in US dollars. This was announced in the company’s blog.
Users can once again deposit and withdraw US dollars using bank accounts, purchase cryptocurrency via the ACH system, and trade in USD pairs. Full access to the service will be available to clients in the coming days.
The list of available services includes:
- USD deposits and withdrawals;
- buying and selling cryptocurrencies for USD;
- conversion between USD and cryptocurrency;
- trading in USD pairs;
- scheduled purchases of digital assets.
Binance.US halted dollar deposits in the summer of 2023 shortly after a lawsuit from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The regulator accused Binance of operating without registration for its American division.
Back in February 10, Binance and the SEC filed a joint motion to suspend legal proceedings for 60 days. This is related to the creation of a special task force on digital assets and the anticipation of potential changes in cryptocurrency legislation.
