Bitcoin again tops $50,000, Ethereum above $4,000

On Friday, September 3, Bitcoin again topped the $50,000 mark (Bitstamp).

At the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at around $50,660. The asset’s market capitalization reached $953.3 billion, according to CoinGecko.

Update:

The price of the second-largest cryptocurrency reached $4,000. Bitcoin posted a new local high above $51,000.

Ethereum came close to the $4,000 level for the first time since May drop. The current price is $3,950, and the market capitalization is $467.3 billion.

Bitcoin’s dominance index stood at 40%, Ethereum’s at 19.6%.

On August 23, Bitcoin had already tested the $50,000 mark, but could not hold above.

On September 2, digital gold again breached the key level. Some analysts suggested that the cryptocurrency’s price would continue its ascent.

Earlier, Ethereum rose above $3,500. Delphi Digital researchers said that the key role was played by the perpetual-contracts market.

In August, the hash rate of the second-largest cryptocurrency reached an all-time high.
