In the second half of 2022, the number of cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide grew by only 94 units, versus 4,169 in January–June. Data from Coin ATM Radar show this.
The lead in installed Bitcoin ATMs remains the United States — 33,945 (88%). Canada is second with 2,652 units or 6.9% of the total. Spain is third with 275 (0.7%).
By manufacturer, BitAccess leads with 11,852 ATMs (30.7%). Next come General Bytes (9,159, 24.3%) and Genesis Coin (8,616, 22.4%).
The leading Bitcoin-ATM operator is Bitcoin Depot — the firm operates 6,763 devices or 17.5% of the market. The top three also include Coin Cloud (4,827, 12.5%) and CoinFlip (3,958, 10.2%).
The slowdown in deployment of devices began in January 2022.
In the same month, Grand View Research predicted growth of the crypto-ATM market to $1.88 billion by 2028.
