Bitcoin Pizza Day: crypto community marks the occasion with giveaways and pizza orders
Every year on May 22 the cryptocurrency community marks Bitcoin Pizza Day. The celebration stems from a landmark event for the industry, when in 2010 programmer Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC. At the time of writing they were worth about $360 million.
In 2021, the community marks Bitcoin Pizza Day for the 11th time. ForkLog has gathered greetings and promotions for the occasion.
The data analytics service CoinGecko’s team congratulated its followers and issued a non-fungible token (NFT). The NFT can be purchased in the rewards shop using bonus points that registered users earn for visiting the site.
