Earlier, on October 19, the New York Stock Exchange under ticker BITO began trading the first US ETF based on bitcoin futures from ProShares. The instrument showed the second-most active debut.

SEC Chair Gary Gensler said that at the core of the bitcoin futures ETF is based on a “extremely speculative asset class” with all the volatility.
