In the early hours of Saturday, January 21, bitcoin prices rose above $22,000 for the first time since September 2022. In the last 24 hours the asset rose by 8%, according to CoinGecko.
Bitcoin price surpassed the $23,000 mark for the first time since August 2022.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin trades around $22,600.
The second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap approached the $1,650 mark (+6.5% in 24 hours, according to CoinGecko).
Following the leaders, all top-10 assets moved into the green zone. The largest weekly gains were Solana (+17.9%) and Cardano (+7.4%). The total cryptocurrency market capitalization reached $1.075 trillion.
In the night of January 12, Bitcoin prices for the first time since mid-December 2022 rose above the $18,000 level on the back of inflation data in the United States. Later that same day the asset continued to rise and retested $19,000.
On January 14, digital gold briefly reached the $21,000 mark. The market capitalization surpassed $1 trillion.
