
Bitcoin price tops $38,000
On Monday, July 26, the price of the first cryptocurrency briefly reached $39,900 (Bitstamp). Over the past 24 hours, the coin rose by 12.4%, according to CoinGecko.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading around $38,500. The asset’s market capitalization stands at $722.9 billion.

According to Bybt, over the past 24 hours futures market liquidations totalled more than $1 billion, predominantly short positions.
On the derivative platform Binance Futures, within two minutes the price of Bitcoin rose to $48,000, before retreating to $39,600.
Ethereum rose 8.6%, reaching $2,360 at the time of writing (Bitstamp). Bitcoin’s dominance index stands at 45.5%, ETH at 17.3%.

Earlier City A.M., citing an insider, reported that Amazon planned to add Bitcoin payments by the end of 2021. According to the source, this was the first step in the company’s ambitions in digital assets — in the future it allegedly planned to add about eight of the most popular cryptocurrencies.
As reported on July 24, digital gold breached $33 000, and the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization stood at $2,100.
