The figure recorded on August 6 was only slightly below the levels seen on May 21.
The size of the mempool, where unconfirmed transactions are stored, fell to a monthly low. On Monday, August 10, this value rose again.
On Sunday, August 9, the mempool contained 3,656 unconfirmed transactions, the lowest figure since July 12.
According to data from bitinfocharts.com, the maximum transaction fee in the Bitcoin network occurred in December 2017 — $55.
As ForkLog previously reported, during July the average size of the Bitcoin network transaction fee increased by 752% — from $0.68 to $5.80.
