BitDAO relocates its forum to Mantle platform

The decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) BitDAO has completed migrating its official forum to the Mantle Network platform as part of the merger.

The merger with the project Layer 2 networks under its brand began after the community approved the proposal to improve BIP-21.

Mantle will inherit the decentralized governance processes and the DAO treasury of about ~$300 million in stablecoins USDC and USDT, as well as ~270 000 ETH valued at over $486 million.

Under the “one brand, one token” concept, the single asset in the ecosystem will be MNT.

Following the migration of the forum to Mantle Governance, BitDAO users can continue all previously open discussions. Access is via existing credentials.

All DAO forum materials not related to the merged project are archived and read-only. Administrators have preserved editing rights and can also add notices redirecting to the new platform.

BitDAO began operations in June 2021 after attracting $230 million from a private funding round with participation by Peter Thiel and Alan Howard. The organisation aimed to support DeFi projects through grants and token swaps.

In August, BitDAO raised 112 000 ETH (about $356 million at the time) in an auction and launched the governance token BIT.

As reported, the organization-backed team presented the modular L2 solution Mantle Network based on Rollups in November 2022.
