Bitfinex adds staking for Polkadot (DOT)

Bitfinex adds staking for Polkadot (DOT)

Bitfinex, the bitcoin exchange, has opened for users the possibility to earn income from staking Polkadot’s token — DOT.

The programme provides rewards of up to 14% per annum for DOT deposited on the exchange. The rate is indicative; the actual size may change, the statement notes.

According to Bitfinex, all tokens allocated for earning income are stored in its cold wallets.

In early October the exchange added the ability to stake Cardano (ADA). The asset became the seventh on the platform for which this option is available.

The exchange launched its passive income staking programme for tokens in April.

Earlier, several leading exchanges announced the listing of DOT shortly after their unlock on August 18. Polkadot founder Gavin Wood criticised Binance and Kraken for this, calling their actions not aboveboard due to the planned denomination of the token.
