
Bitstamp joins UK regulator’s register
The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has added the Bitstamp cryptocurrency exchange to the register of registered cryptocurrency companies. The corresponding information posted on the regulator’s website.
The decision took effect on June 13 and reflects the firm’s compliance with anti-money‑laundering regulatory requirements.

Interactive Brokers joined the list. In 2021 it launched cryptocurrency trading, and later announced that digital-asset trading would operate 24/7 and that new coins would be added to the listing.
Earlier, FCA approval was granted to the Kraken subsidiary of the bitcoin exchange and to the infrastructure provider MoonPay. As of writing, more than 40 companies are in the register.
Earlier, in May 2023 it was reported that Ripple acquired a minority stake in Pantera Capital in Bitstamp.
