Bitzlato reports breach after hack

The Bitzlato cryptocurrency exchange platform said it had been hacked and suspended operations.

In its initial post, the team said hackers had withdrawn some funds and urged users not to top up deposits. The platform suspended withdrawals.

A few hours later, the developers confirmed the hack and assured that users’ assets were safe.

“The attackers were able to withdraw a small portion of funds, but we guarantee refunds to all those affected,” Bitzlato stressed.

For safety reasons, the team disabled the service. It did not disclose the extent of the loss.

On Thursday, January 19, the platform had scheduled planned maintenance.

As reported in Beosin’s 2022 report, losses of the Web3-industry from 167 major attacks amounted to about $3.6 billion.
