
Bloomberg: Kraken to launch stock trading
The cryptocurrency exchange Kraken will offer clients the ability to buy and sell stocks of companies and ETF, listed in the United States and the United Kingdom. Bloomberg reports.
The Kraken Securities division will lead the new line of business.
The exchange already has the necessary regulatory documents from the United Kingdom regulators. The company has also filed an application for a broker-dealer license with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Stock trading is expected to begin in 2024.
In February, Kraken settled charges brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, paying $30 million.
In March, it became known that the exchange planned to open its own bank.
In June, Kraken announced the launch of an NFT marketplace.
