Bybit becomes Borussia Dortmund’s partner
The Singapore-based cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Bybit has become the official partner of the German football club Borussia Dortmund, the exchange said in its blog.
According to Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou, the exchange and Borussia Dortmund share similar values: a drive to win, ambition, and hard work.
“We even have the same corporate colours: black and yellow. Borussia Dortmund is a club with a rich history, in which there have been many victories. Bybit is a young, promising crypto company. Through a partnership with Borussia, we want to show that Bybit aims for a leading position in the crypto industry,” he said.
Representatives of Borussia Dortmund said that the collaboration with Bybit is part of the club’s global marketing campaign. Dortmund had previously opened offices in Singapore and Shanghai—the regions where Bybit’s head office and regional offices are located.
“Technology is gradually penetrating all areas of life, and sport is no exception. We believe the sports industry should use digital technologies to foster further development. We hope that the collaboration with Bybit will help us strengthen our position in local and international markets,” said Borussia Dortmund’s managing director Karsten Kramer.
Borussia Dortmund was founded in 1909. The team has won the German championship eight times and the German Cup four times. In 1997, Borussia Dortmund won the UEFA Champions League.
Dortmund’s first match after the partnership with Bybit will be on 7 November against Bayern Munich. Both clubs are vying for the German football championship.
Bybit is a platform for trading cryptocurrency derivatives. The exchange began operating in 2018. Bybit supports nine trading pairs.
In late October, Bybit launched new USDT pairs and reduced trading fees by 30%.
