Canaan unveils next-generation Bitcoin miner

Canaan Technology released the new immersion-cooled mining rig A1466I, according to reporter Colin Wu.

The Bitcoin miner delivers a hash rate of 170 TH/s at an energy efficiency of 19.5 J/TH.

The metrics of the previous flagship model with immersion cooling — the A1366I — stand at 165 TH/s and 30 J/TH, respectively.

The price of the A1466I is around $3,210 per unit or $18.88 per TH.

The unit became the first for the company with an efficiency above 20 J/TH. According to Hashrate Index, the market quotes for similar miners are around $19.98 per TH.

In the second quarter, Canaan posted revenue of $73.9 million. The figure rose 33.7% vs the first three months of the year, but was one-third of the level seen in the same period in 2022.
