Canadian-listed fintech launches bitcoin-cashback mortgage

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and NASDAQ-listed Canadian fintech company Mogo announced the launch of a new incentive program offering cashback in the first cryptocurrency. The announcement appeared in сообщение on the site.

The program provides for cashback of up to C$3,100 (about $2,460 at the time of writing) in digital gold when taking out a new mortgage or refinancing an existing one.

“Given Bitcoin’s volatility and speculative nature, the number of Canadians looking to join this market without risking their own money is growing,” said Mogo founder and CEO David Feller.

According to him, the company’s aim as an independent mortgage broker is to meet this demand.

In 2018, Mogo launched the MogoCrypto app to buy and sell the first cryptocurrency.

In December 2020, the company announced its intention to invest up to $1.5 million in digital gold.

Earlier in March 2021, the bitcoin cashback platform Lolli closed a $5 million investment round. It was led by venture fund Seven Seven Six, co-founded by Reddit’s Alexis Ohanian, and Night Media.
