If Canon does not meet the attackers’ terms within seven days, they threaten to publish all files online.

The ransom amount and number of encrypted devices were not disclosed.

Initially, the outlet suggested that the attack was organized by the Maze hacker group. However, its representatives denied involvement.

Earlier, Garmin, the smartwatch maker, paid a multi-million-dollar ransom to decrypt the files.

The attackers targeted the company’s internal infrastructure with the WastedLocker ransomware and demanded $10 million in cryptocurrency.
