Cashaa opens crypto-friendly bank in India

Unicas, a joint venture of Cashaa and United Multistate Credit, opened a crypto-friendly bank branch in the Indian city of Jaipur.

The fintech company announced the creation of Unicas to launch physical branches of the bank in October 2020.

The Jaipur branch was the first of several planned. By the end of January 2021, the joint venture will open 14 more offices in India, and by 2022 the network will be expanded to 100 branches.

Unicas clients will have access to traditional banking services and digital-asset operations.

Earlier, Cashaa announced the launch in India of an internet banking service to serve cryptocurrency holders.

As reported, on December 29 the Central Bureau of Economic Intelligence of India proposed introducing a tax on Bitcoin trading.
