Cathie Wood Reveals Her Bitcoin Investment Strategy

Cathie Wood Reveals Her Bitcoin Investment Strategy

Approximately a quarter of ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood’s financial capital is held in Bitcoin, the company’s founder revealed in an interview with Schwab Network.

She noted that her portfolio is “almost entirely tied to innovation,” including cryptocurrencies.

According to Wood, her bold investment strategy is supported by the firm’s research, which she described as “deep.”

“Excluding ARK and real estate, net financial capital [in Bitcoin] is at least 25%,” she clarified.

According to The Street, Wood’s net worth was estimated at approximately $140 million as of September 2023. The publication noted that other media outlets have cited figures ranging from $250 to $300 million.

Meanwhile, the world’s richest person, Elon Musk ($217 billion), admitted in a conversation with Wood that he only owns “a large amount of Dogecoin” among cryptocurrencies.

However, the entrepreneur added that Bitcoin is on the balance sheet of SpaceX, the private company he founded, in which Musk owns 54%. According to the billionaire, the first cryptocurrency “doesn’t occupy his thoughts much.”

Additionally, Tesla, founded by Musk, invested $1.5 billion in digital gold in February 2021. The publicly traded firm liquidated most of the position with a profit of $936 million.

As reported, the largest holder of Bitcoin among private companies is MicroStrategy, which increased its reserves to 189,150 BTC (~$8.95 billion at the time of writing) by the end of December.
