Binance, the cryptocurrency exchange, has moved closer to disclosing the identity of the hacker responsible for the cross-chain BSC Token Hub bridge breach. This, CEO Changpeng Zhao сообщил CNBC.

According to him, after talks with authorities, the platform’s team \”narrowed the circle\” of those behind the attack.

The head of the exchange added that cooperation with law enforcement is one way to \”make the space safer\”.

As reported on 6 October, the developers suspended the BNB Chain amid the BSC Token Hub bridge hack. The attacker managed to withdraw only $100 million of the stolen funds. The network was later restored.

The team announced a community vote on the next steps after the incident.

\n\n\n\n

On 12 October, the BNB Chain developers announced a hard fork to restore the internal cross-chain infrastructure between the governance blockchain of the BNB Beacon Chain and the consensus layer of the BNB Smart Chain.
