Class-action filed against Yuga Labs over Bored Ape Yacht Club and ApeCoin

Law firm Scott+Scott filed a lawsuit against Yuga Labs on behalf of holders of NFT from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and ApeCoin (APE) tokens, according to CoinDesk.

The lawsuit also names Justin Bieber and Madonna, model Paris Hilton, TV host Jimmy Fallon, and other celebrities. The filing alleges that their endorsements of BAYC and APE led to investors’ losses.

The defendants include Yuga Labs founders and executives, the crypto-payments infrastructure provider MoonPay and its CEO Ivan Soto-Wright, Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, NFT artist Mike Winkelmann (Beeple) and others.

\n\n\n\n

Yuga Labs described the allegations as \”opportunistic, parasitic and unfounded\”.

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Earlier in December, a U.S. court dismissed the Scott+Scott suit against model Kim Kardashian and former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather over promotion of the altcoin EthereumMax.
