Under the terms of the agreement, the manufacturer will prepare 25,000 units for delivery in August, and the remaining 20,000 — in September.
The company plans to deploy these devices at a facility in Sandersville, Georgia in multiple batches by year-end. The data centre is currently undergoing upgrades to increase capacity to 150 MW.
The acquired ASIC miners, once operational, will add roughly 6.3 EH/s to the firm’s current hashrate of 6.7 EH/s.
In February, CleanSpark bought 20,000 Antminer S19j Pro+. It is expected that the deployment of this equipment with a combined hashrate of 2.44 EH/s will be completed by the end of the second quarter. Its installation is taking place at the facility in Washington, Georgia.
According to CEO Zach Bradford, bringing all the purchased equipment online by year-end will yield about 15.9 EH/s of hashrate. This puts the firm about 99% of the way to its 16 EH/s target, he noted.
In January, CleanSpark began construction of the second phase of the data centre in Washington.
