American Android users will also be able to pay with cryptocurrencies. In 2020, residents of 14 European countries gained the ability to add the Coinbase Card debit card to Google Pay.
Representatives of the bitcoin exchange said they would open access to the cashback program for users on the waiting list. They will receive 1% in digital gold or 4% in Stellar Lumens from purchases as a reward when using the debit card via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Earlier, Coinbase introduced a beta version of its own brokerage platform. The update is part of the company’s plan to attract new institutional clients.
Earlier in February 2021, the cryptocurrency processing service BitPay added its prepaid Mastercard to the Apple Wallet app.
