Coinbase adds ‘experimental’ labels for some cryptocurrencies

The Coinbase exchange has introduced a system of ‘experimental’ labels. The platform flags assets with low trading volumes and recently listed cryptocurrencies. This was рассказал by Ishan Vahi, the company’s product manager.

“Our goal is to be as transparent as possible with our clients about trading risks, so we are introducing a new experimental label on asset pages and disclosing information when trading certain cryptocurrencies,” he wrote.

According to Vahi, Coinbase is rapidly expanding the list of assets traded on the platform, which carries risks related to volatility and order cancellations.

The company emphasized that users should “exercise caution” when interacting with assets labeled as “experimental.” The label will not affect the ability to trade these cryptocurrencies.

Coinbase also unveiled the “Proposal on Digital Asset Policy”.

The company said that the document’s aim is to give it the opportunity to participate in discussions on how the U.S. financial regulatory system should adapt to two “most important” events:

• the decentralized evolution of the internet;
• the emergence of a class of digital assets offering “unique economic solutions”.

Coinbase professionals suggested regulating cryptocurrencies within a separate framework, delegating oversight to a specific federal agency, expanding and protecting the rights of holders of digital assets, and promoting operational interoperability and fair competition.

Earlier in March, Coinbase announced the blocking of more than 25,000 addresses linked to Russian individuals and entities.
