
Coinbase awards first grants to two Bitcoin developers
The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has awarded the first grants to two Bitcoin developers from its Crypto Community Fund.

The grant recipients, whose amounts were not disclosed, were the anonymous developer going by the handle 0xB10C and Juan Barbosa. They will receive funding in Bitcoin or US dollars through 2021.
“Both candidates demonstrated a consistent history of involvement with Bitcoin Core and provided the fund’s advisory board with a clear and actionable plan for the projects they intend to work on,” Coinbase said.
Earlier Barbosa, together with his colleague Jonas Schnelli lost funding from the mining equipment maker Bitmain.
As reported in October 2020, Coinbase announced the creation of a dedicated fund to support Bitcoin developers.
