The ongoing crypto winter and tougher regulation have not dampened interest in the sector — 20% of the adult population in the United States (more than 50 million people) own cryptocurrencies. Data from a Morning Consult опроса, commissioned by Coinbase in February 2023, indicate this.
Twenty-two percent of these respondents identified as Democrats and politically independent, 18% as Republicans.
Young Americans are more engaged with digital assets than older generations. However, 76% of holders agree that the crypto industry and blockchain have a future.
80% of those polled consider the current financial system unfair. Cryptocurrencies, in the view of a majority, could play an important role in its renewal.
“Public sentiment is ahead of policymakers when it comes to the role of cryptocurrencies in updating the financial system. Cryptocurrencies are increasingly used to solve real-world problems,” — прокомментировали результаты опроса в Coinbase.
According to JPMorgan’s study, the share of US adults who have ever transferred funds to a crypto-linked account increased from 3% in 2020 to 13% as of June 2022.
