The NYT headline refers to the US authorities’ approval of a $1.9 trillion economic-relief package aimed at addressing the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The measures proposed by US President Joe Biden provide payments of $1,400 to Americans earning less than $75,000 per year. Another provision extends unemployment support until September.
The message in block #679187 is an allusion to The Times’ headline ‘Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks’, which Satoshi Nakamoto embedded in the hash of the genesis block.
Since the launch of the Bitcoin mainnet on 3 January 2009, more than 12 years have elapsed.
