CoinGecko unveils NFT Spotlight platform for artists

The cryptocurrency data platform CoinGecko has launched NFT Spotlight, a platform for NFT creators to engage with the crypto community, the company said in a press release.

The aims of NFT Spotlight, according to the service, are:

• Democratisation of art valuation—the backstory of the creative process will enable people to gauge the author’s contribution to the work;
• Help artists engage with users via the CoinGecko community;
• Expanding the audience of potential NFT owners.

The service noted that the third item involves distributing three tiers of non-fungible tokens: legendary, rare and ordinary. The latter two will grant access to artworks to members of the CoinGecko loyalty programme.

the first artist Sven Eberwein joined NFT Spotlight. A work tied to this event was put up for auction on the OpenSea platform. Two other works may be claimed by CoinGecko Candy holders.

Back in February 2021, CoinGecko published a book “How to Bitcoin” (“What is Bitcoin”) in English for newcomers to the cryptocurrency industry.
