Controversial Blogger Andrew Tate Shifts to Bitcoin, Abandoning Fiat

Blogger and former kickboxer Andrew Tate has announced his intention to completely abandon fiat currency and invest over $100 million in Bitcoin.

He aims to sever ties with “banks, their money, and other scams.” Tate promised to provide proof of his actions.

He mentioned that the only thing that previously held him back from such a move was having “more crypto assets than fiat.”

Joe Burnett, a representative of Blockware Solutions, supported Tate’s ambition.

“This isn’t foolishness, it’s common sense. Why hold wealth that you can only access with permission from a select elite?” he noted in a comment under the tweet.

Andrew Tate is a disgraced influencer, millionaire, and former MMA fighter, also known for his harsh misogynistic remarks. All his channels on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram are blocked.

In December 2022, the blogger spoke about the advantages of Bitcoin over fiat. He claimed that the leading cryptocurrency and blockchain allow people, not governments, to control their money and property.

Back in June 2023, Tate, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women, was accused of human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal group to exploit women. During the criminal investigation, authorities seized personal belongings, cars, designer watches, as well as real estate, cash, and cryptocurrencies from the influencer.

In January 2024, the Bucharest Court of Appeal accepted Tate’s request to reassess the assets confiscated by the state.
