MDS Mexico deploys blockchain to verify the authenticity of COVID-19 tests
The Mexican medical company MDS Mexico has launched a blockchain platform to verify the authenticity of COVID-19 tests. This was reported by iProUp.
The initiative will provide access to test information via QR codes to prevent the falsification of negative results and protect patients’ personal data.
Information on the blockchain also includes the signature of the doctor who verified the medical examination.
Jaguar Land Rover tested blockchain to track supply chains
In collaboration with the Circulor startup, the automaker Jaguar Land Rover tested blockchain to track leather supply chains and assess its carbon footprint.
"The results will allow us to improve the resilience of the leather supply chain worldwide, providing full traceability of the raw material from its origin to its use in the vehicle," said Dave Owen, Executive Director of Supply Chain.
The initiative is part of Reimagine — a Jaguar Land Rover project aimed at eliminating carbon emissions by 2039.
OTB fashion group joined the Aura blockchain consortium to combat counterfeits
The international fashion group OTB, whose brands include Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, Jil Sander and others, joined the Aura blockchain consortium to combat counterfeit luxury goods. This was reported by Reuters.
The consortium was formed in April 2021 by French luxury houses LVMH and Cartier together with Italian fashion house Prada.
OTB’s revenue stands at $1.5 billion. Board member Stefano Rosso said OTB is focused on innovation, sustainability and transparency for customers.
H&M Mitte Garden store to integrate blockchain for clothing rental
The German fashion boutique H&M Mitte Garden will launch blockchain-based clothing rental. This was reported by Fashion United.
The Berlin store will use SPIN blockchain from Lablaco to track rented clothing at a price of 5 to 9 euros per day.
The platform will enable provenance tracking by scanning barcodes and will allow customers to share photo reviews.
"I am very excited to exclusively try this blockchain-based rental service at our Berlin Mitte Garten Store. We have a unique community and customer base — they love exploring new things, experimenting with style and looking fashionable, eco-friendly and affordable," said Stiliyana Stoyanova, the boutique’s PR manager.
Store owners will be able to track rental periods and the history of each item.
Broadridge tested blockchain for consumer credit insurance
The U.S. financial services firm Broadridge, in collaboration with LiquidX, is automating consumer credit insurance using blockchain. This was reported by Ledger Insights.
Todd Laynadi, Global Head of Insurance at LiquidX, said insurers will receive real-time information on the actual risk cost.
In turn, the blockchain will ensure compliance with insurance policy terms for insured parties and lenders. The initiative will automate and raise the level of coverage for consumer loans.
