Cross The Ages Metaverse Raises $12 Million in Seed Round

The gaming metaverse Cross The Ages (CTA) has closed a seed round of funding worth $12 million, according to the project’s press office, as told to ForkLog.

Investors included Animoca Brands, the blockchain-games operator, platform Polygon, Ubisoft, and The Sandbox co-founder Sébastien Borget, among others.

CTA is a collectible card game for mobile devices set in a metaverse, the action of which unfolds in a dystopian world based on fantasy novels.

The project’s creators place particular emphasis on the narrative. Thirteen writers worked on the first book, Artellium. The team totals more than 140 people, roughly half of whom are artists from around the world.

The beta version of CTA is scheduled for the end of May 2022. Digital and physical cards will appear in June. Contests on social media have begun for the right to be among the first 20,000 players.

Earlier, the company behind the NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs raised $450 million to create its own metaverse, Otherside.
