Cryptocurrency market capitalization surpasses $2 trillion

Total market value of digital assets reached a new all-time high of $2 trillion, according to data from CoinGecko.

Bitcoin accounts for more than half of the market at $1.095 trillion. It is followed by Ethereum, Binance Coin, Polkadot and Cardano.

The main driver of market growth was Ethereum, which on April 3 reached a new high above $2140. Its market capitalization reached $245 billion. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency trades around $2100.

Binance’s BNB token rose 39.7% over the week to $375.

\n\n\n\n

Polkadot and XRP also posted substantial gains over the past seven days — 38.7% and 32%, respectively.

\n\n\n\n

According to a CoinGecko report, in 2020 cryptocurrencies in the Top-30 rose on average by 308%.
