Dave Portnoy, the creator of the sports media platform Barstool Sports, purchased LIBRA for approximately $170,000. This coin is not associated with the meme coin mentioned by Argentina’s President Javier Milei and has a different contract address.
Anybody wanna buy some fake Libra? Warning. This is a meme coin. I bought it by accident. It will be volatile. It will eventually go to zero. It may rip. It may tank. Don’t put on more than you can lose!!! It’s a collectible

“Anybody wanna buy some fake LIBRA? […] I bought it by accident. It will be volatile and eventually go to zero. […] Don’t put on more than you can lose!!! It’s a collectible,” he admitted.
Currently, the position is valued at $39,200.
On February 16, Portnoy announced that he intended to join LIBRA as an advisor and bought the asset after its launch. He later returned about 6 million tokens following a request from the project’s advisor, Hayden Davis, not to disclose information about the “gift.”
Earlier in February, after being mentioned on social media platform X by Argentina’s President Javier Milei, the asset reached a market capitalization of $4.56 billion, but its price plummeted by 94% within the next few hours.
Later, analysts linked the LIBRA and MELANIA tokens to the same team.
