On June 28, the Ronin sidechain used by the Axie Infinity blockchain game will restart after a $625 million attack.

Sky Mavis, the company behind the projects, said that all users would have their funds returned.
“Our engineering team has been hard at work preparing the bridge for opening,” the developers noted.
They added that restarting Ronin will require a network hard fork, so all validators must update their software.
In March the attackers gained control of five of the nine validator nodes and drained crypto assets worth about $625 million.
The team said that the attackers used social engineering to gain unauthorized access to the assets. The attack occurred in December 2021.
Initially, the developers planned to restart the network in mid- or late May.
On June 21 they said that the protocol had passed Certik’s audit with minor remarks. They said that it was the audit that delayed the Ronin restart.
We are happy to report that the Certik audit came back clean with minor suggestions.
We are implementing Certik’s improvement recommendations and will begin to deploy the validator Governance Smart Contract.
The Ronin Bridge is still on track for a re-opening this month.

In April, Sky Mavis launched a bug bounty program for finding vulnerabilities in the ecosystem. The bounty for discovered bugs in the blockchain and smart contracts will range from $1,000 to $1 million depending on severity.
