Similar to other startups like Bittensor, dAIOS, and Boltzmann Network, Morpheus aims to combat the adverse side effects of AI, such as centralization, censorship, and monopolistic data control.
The developers have joined the Decentralized AI Society, which is “focused on fighting tech giants seeking to monopolize the artificial intelligence industry.”
Morpheus is built using the codebase of the Lumerin protocol, which operates on Arbitrum.
The project promises to provide personal AI agents capable of enhancing human capabilities in a manner akin to computers and search engines in the past. The neural network will be able to interact with smart contracts, connect to Web3 user wallets, and dapps.
In October, SingularityDAO, Cogito Finance, and SelfKey planned to unite in a joint project aimed at tokenizing the AI economy.
In July, developers of the AI platform SingularityNET and the data storage network Filecoin announced plans to merge the fields of artificial intelligence and DePIN, while maintaining decentralization, ethics of neural networks, and information reliability.
