Developers unveil a new standard for Bitcoin Ordinals
The Luminex Ordinals platform team unveiled the BRC-69 standard, which simplifies and reduces the cost of issuing NFT collections of recursive inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain.

\”As the number of Ordinals grows, space in Bitcoin blocks becomes increasingly scarce and expensive. We need innovative approaches that allow authors to realise their ideas while improving efficiency,\” the developers explained.

According to them, BRC-69 can cut the cost of issuing collections by more than 90%. The reduction in fees is achieved through a four-step process. A user must:
\n\n
- \n
- specify image markers in the network;
- enter a textual JSON deployment phrase for the collection;
- embed a compiler for it in JavaScript;
- issue the assets.

The developers noted that the process is simple: you only need to specify a text string instead of the full image. This enables the final image to be displayed across all Ordinals interfaces, using only online resources. The solution became possible thanks to the concept of recursive inscriptions.
\n\n
\n
\”Unlike other recursive SVG-collections, these images can be dragged, deleted, and saved like typical graphic Ordinals,\” the authors of the standard added.

BRC-69 also opens up opportunities for additional features and improvements to the NFT creation process on Bitcoin, they say. The Luminex team plans to test the standard with near-term launches on its platform.

Earlier in June, an analogue of the Ordinals protocol called Ethscriptions appeared in the Ethereum ecosystem. In the first week alone, the trading volume of digital artifacts on it surpassed $1 million.
