In the night of April 16, the price of Dogecoin (DOGE) reached the $0.30 mark. Over the past 24 hours the asset rose by 87.8%, according to CoinGecko.
The price of Dogecoin neared the $0.40 mark. With a current market cap of $47 billion, the project surpassed Polkadot, Cardano and Tether, ranking fifth in the overall CoinMarketCap ranking.
Doge futures trading volume reached $33 billion. According to Coinalyze, this is the third-largest daily figure after Bitcoin and Ethereum.
As of this writing, Dogecoin trades at around $0.25. Over seven days it has surged by 317.9%. The project’s market capitalization has surpassed $33 billion — it ranks eighth on CoinMarketCap.
On April 15, 2021, Tesla founder Elon Musk posted a tweet with a likely reference to the cryptocurrency.

In December 2019, Musk named Dogecoin his favourite coin. In July 2020 and February 2021, Musk pumped the token price by 17% and 50% respectively.
The cryptocurrency was also supported by American rapper Snoop Dogg, musician and bass guitarist of the rock band KISS Gene Simmons and porn star Mia Khalifa.
In April, the price of Dogecoin reached a new all-time high above $0.14.
